Director of Legal Services

Attorney Brian Davis serves as Director of Legal Services for Cornerstone Legal Services, and admitted to practice in Utah where his legal skill and his walk with the Lord work hand in hand. Brian came to faith in college, and that decision has shaped every chapter since — from overseas ministry in Cambodia, Guatemala, and American Samoa, to children's and worship ministry closer to home, to the conviction that drew him into legal aid work in the first place. He earned his J.D. from the University of Denver's Sturm College of Law, where he was active in the Christian Legal Society as well as the Public Interest Law Group and the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association, and holds a B.A. in Music and History from Central Washington University. His career has taken him from a clerkship with the High Court of American Samoa, to legal aid work with Utah Legal Services.Brian holds Deuteronomy 6:4-9 close to his heart — to love the Lord with all his heart, soul, and strength, and to pass that faith on to the next generation — and that verse shapes how he shows up for clients, colleagues, and his own family.

Ashleigh Caffey

Paralegal

Ashleigh Caffey serves as a paralegal for Cornerstone Legal Services, bringing meaningful legal experience and a sharp eye for language to the clinic's day-to-day work. Her most recent legal experience comes from her time as a Legal Assistant in the Child Protection Division of the Utah Attorney General's Office, where she drafted warrants, petitions, and motions; reviewed medical records, police reports, and body camera footage to prepare for trial; coordinated with witnesses, courts, and opposing counsel; and carefully redacted privileged information in compliance with state and federal law. This experience has given her a steady, detail-oriented approach to high-stakes legal work. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Union University, where she double-majored in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing and Christian Studies with an emphasis in Biblical Languages (Hebrew and Greek). Before her legal career, Ashleigh sharpened her writing and editing skills as a copywriter and editor at Boostability, work that continues to inform the clarity and precision she brings to legal drafting today. Ashleigh brings that same rigor, faith, and care for people into her work at CLS, helping ensure clients are met with both excellence and compassion as they navigate difficult legal challenges.

Leif Oines

Executive Director

Leif Oines brings more than 30 years of management and leadership experience to Crossroads Legal Services. His path has been anything but ordinary—from overseeing phone centers to managing upholstery and electricians' shops to becoming an Assistant Federal Security Director with the TSA—leading him through a wide range of work spanning operations, ministry, and public service. Over the years, he's developed long-term relationships with hundreds of churches, colleges, and ministries around the world, and served as President of a local Interfaith Council. One of Leif's greatest joys at Cornerstone Legal Services is the chance to work with and on behalf of people—helping deliver compassionate, accessible legal help to his Utah neighbors. In his free time, you'll find him swimming alongside of, or coaching adults, in both pool and open water swimming.
